Get to Know Julie Latsko

With over 15 years of real estate and design experience under her belt, Julie Latsko is a highly sought-after Chicago agent with a unique perspective. She received her degree in interior design from the Harrington College of Design and later founded and co-owned the acclaimed Chicago restaurant Table 52 alongside chef Art Smith.

A former international model, Julie's years in the fashion industry gave her the chance to live and work all over the world. Living in places like Japan taught Julie to adapt quickly to bridge the cultural and language divide. Being pushed outside of her comfort zone helped her learn how to develop and manage her own business. Finding ways to feel comfortable in uncomfortable situations became one of her many strengths and something she's still guided by to this day.

Born and raised on Chicago's Southside in Blue Island, George Floyd's murder and the subsequent ripple effect around the world motivated Julie to return to her hometown. Inspired by the Black Lives Matter protests and the social justice reckoning, Julie realized that the place she could be affecting the most change could start at home.

Fighting against racial injustice was one of several motivating factors to urge her back to Blue Island. Since returning, she has worked on a project to restore and decorate a historically significant mansion in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood. In addition, Julie has also designed houses all over California and the Midwest.

One of her core principles is to find ways of ushering in a new age of social reform. She believes that everyone deserves to be a homeowner, no matter the price point, and is proud to be part of a company like Compass. They have made a tangible commitment to diversity and inclusion by giving their agents the option to contribute 15% of their vendor business to Black-owned businesses.

Julie is happy to work with anyone in the area and has in-depth knowledge of both the luxury housing market and Chicago's many affordable housing options. It doesn't matter what demographic you come from; Julie loves helping people from all walks of life. Regardless of your budgetary constraints, Julie applies the same commitment, focus, and detail-oriented view to each environment.
